Registration Underway for Al-Kawthar TV’s 17th Int'l Quran Contest

IQNA – Registration for the 17th edition of an annual international Quran competition organized by Al-Kawthar TV Channel opened on Wednesday, concurrent with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

Al-Kawthar TV’s Quran competition dubbed Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31)

 

It will close on the 13th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rajab (February 25), marking the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS).

Those willing to sign up for the contest, can refer to the dedicated portal on Al-Kawthar TV's official website at www.alkawthartv.ir.

Participants are required to submit an audio recitation, spanning two to three minutes, from one of the following sections of the Holy Quran:

     - Verses 161-165 from Surah Al-An'am

     - Verses 143-144 from Surah Al-A'raf

     - Verses 110-115 from Surah Hud

The top ninety-six participants, based on initial evaluations, will be notified of their qualification for the subsequent stage before the holy month of Ramadan.

Qualified participants will receive their designated section and must submit their video recitation within a three-day window from the date of notification.

All ninety-six selected participants are required to be available via Skype for the live broadcast sessions throughout the holy month of Ramadan. This coordination will be facilitated by Al-Kawthar TV's production team.

Twenty-four participants will advance to the semi-finals. There will be a maximum of two participants from each country, and these must be the top scorers from their respective nations.

Viewers will have the opportunity to vote for one additional participant to advance to the semi-finals.

Ultimately, the top five participants from five distinct countries will progress to the grand finale, scheduled for the blessed night of Eid al-Fitr.

All participants, aged seventeen and above, are required to:

   - Provide their complete name.

   - Mention their country of residence.

   - Specify their age.

   - Include a valid contact phone number.

   - Ensure their submitted recitation is clearly labeled with the chosen section for example: Verses 143-144 from Surah Al-A'raf.

The phone-in Quran competition titled “Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31) is held in the blessed month of Ramadan every year.

It is the Muslim world’s biggest live Quran recitation competition aired by Al-Kawthar, an Arabic-language channel within the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting’s World Service.

Al-Kawthar TV has hoped that the competition would serve as a beacon of unity, spirituality, and reverence for the Holy Quran.
